Myth of Daphne and Apollo

In the myth of Daphne and Apollo, Apollo the god of beauty was mocked by Eros, the Good of Love, who is also known as Cupid. Eros shoots two arrows, the golden one into Apollo to make him fall in love with Daphne (a daughter of Naiad Nymph), and a lead arrow into Daphne, so she would hate and despise Apollo. Under the arrow's influence, Apollo continues to chase and pursue Daphne, however, she keeps rejecting him even after he promised her to love her for the rest of his life.

Daphne was trapped and didn't know what to do, and she asked for help from Peneus (the river god) to release her from Apollo's feelings and stubbornness towards her. Thus, Peneus decides to transform her into the laurel tree through metamorphosis. As a gesture of love Apollo with his powers of endless youth and immortality makes Daphne's laurel leaves become evergreen.

Instead of doing something, Daphne deiced to simply escape by turning into the tree. Therefore, the transformation into the tree can be considered as a form of total escapism of the human reality. The basis of Greek Myths transformation into the flower is a clear foundation of the concept for my future work.
